Crescent City Tigers to Host 59th-Annual LSU Sports Banquet

Individual Basketball Tickets To Go on Sale, Packages Available

BATON ROUGE — The LSU Athletic Ticket Office is currently selling special ticket packages for the 2003-04 men’s and women’s basketball home seasons which are set to get underway.

The men’s basketball team will have a five-game “Super Saturday” package in which fans for a total of $125 can purchase four tickets each for the five Saturday afternoon home games (including three SEC home dates) — Nov. 29 versus Louisiana-Monroe (2 p.m.), Dec. 20 versus Southern Miss (3 p.m.), Jan. 10 versus Alabama (2 p.m.), Jan. 17 versus Mississippi State (2 p.m.) and Feb. 7 versus Arkansas (Noon).

The women’s package, presented by Coca-Cola and called the “Coca-Cola Six Pack” costs $100 and purchasers will receive four tickets and four free cokes for games against Louisiana Monroe (Dec. 13), Arizona (Jan. 4), Florida (15), South Carolina (Feb. 1), Arkansas (Feb. 12) and Mississippi State (Feb. 22).

Tickets are available for purchase during regular athletic ticket office business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday or by phone at 225-578-2184 or 800-960-8587.

Individual single-game tickets will go on sale Wednesday (Nov. 19) at 8 a.m. at the LSU Athletic Ticket Office for both men and women’s basketball and those tickets can also be purchased online at www.LSUsports.net.

In other news, tickets for the LSU men’s three area road games can be purchased on line. Tickets for the LSU-UAB Nokia Sugar Bowl contest on Dec. 27 in the New Orleans Arena and the Bossier City contest at the Century Tel Center against Centenary can be purchased at www.Ticketmaster.com. Tickets for LSU’s Dec. 30 game at the University of Houston can be purchased at www.uhcougars.ocsn.com.

Also, LSU athletic officials are reminding fans that the Nov. 29 men’s game with Louisiana Monroe is an afternoon contest at 2 p.m. and not at 7 p.m. as many of the printed materials have the game listed.

While the LSU women open the season on the road, the LSU men’s basketball team will play a final exhibition game Monday night at 7 p.m. at the Maravich Center against the Southeastern All-Stars. The Tigers open the season against the Southern Jaguars on Friday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m.
