COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The LSU men’s tennis team routed opponents from Texas Christian on the first day of the Texas A&M Tennis Fall Invitational. No official team results are given, but the Tigers were 3-0 in doubles and 8-1 in singles Friday in the hidden dual match.
LSU’s Ken Skupski and Bryan Fisher opened the morning with a doubles win over Jacob Martin and Jacopo Tezza, 8-4. They later managed single wins over the same opponents, Skupski over Tezza and Fisher over Martin.
“Ken and Bryan played well at the top of the lineup,” LSU head coach Jeff Brown said. “Everyone else really took care of their opportunities.”
Danny Bryan and Cory Ross notched yet another doubles win for their undefeated record, beating Robert Gallman and Andrew Ulrich, 8-3. Jason Hazley and Colt Gaston easily won their doubles match, 8-0, over Craig Stopa and Collin Hart.
“We competed really well in doubles and that carried over,” Brown said.
Tomorrow LSU faces Texas A&M. Doubles begin at 11:30 a.m.
