Men’s Tennis Duo Wins Claims Second Title of Fall Season

LAFAYETTE – LSU’s Cory Ross and Danny Bryan won their second consecutive doubles championship Sunday in the UL-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns Tennis Classic.

The duo beat Amanjot Singh and Evghenii Corduneanu of ULL in the finals on their home court in a 9-8 battle.

“The other guys competed really hard,” said LSU assistant coach Mark Booras. “They didn’t give us an inch. I was pleased with the way our guys competed. They had a couple of lapses in the second match but they were able to recover to get the championship.”

It was only the senior Ross and freshman Bryan’s second tournament to compete on the same doubles team. They won a championship last weekend at the Tulane Beau Holton Memorial Tournament.

“This was a great warm up for our last tournament of the fall,” Booras said. “Our guys will have some confidence going into next weekend.”

Ross and Bryan will test their undefeated record next weekend at the Texas A&M Invitational. They and the rest of the Tigers begin their last competition before next spring there Friday.
