CARVILLE, La. — With the 2004 gymnastics season just around the corner, the Tigers took time out of their busy academic and training schedules to visit the Louisiana Youth Challenge Program at Carville and participate in some team building activities.
As a part of the team building exercise, the LSU gymnastics team tried their hands at the school’s Rope Challenge course, the Power Pole and the Trust Fall, while also taking time out to visit with the school’s cadets.
“This was a fabulous experience for everyone,” said LSU head coach D-D Breaux. “Not only was it a great opportunity for the team to get out in the community and volunteer their time, but I know the cadets at Carville enjoyed participating in the activities with the team and getting to talk to the athletes in a casual setting.
“I think that it was an experience that we all benefited from and will likely do again before the year ends.”
