TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The LSU women’s golf team will have to sit and wait for another day for play to resume in the University of Alabama/Ann Rhoads Intercollegiate women’s golf tournament after heavy overnight and morning rains rendered the Capstone Course unplayable for the resumption of first round play and the second round, originally scheduled for Monday.

Play was called at approximately 10:30 a.m., an hour after the rain-delayed first round from Sunday was supposed to resume. A second round, scheduled to begin at noon was also cancelled and the 54-hole tournament was reduced to 36 holes that will finish on Tuesday.

The conclusion of the first round is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Tuesday to be followed by the final round at 9 a.m.

The clubhouse leaders in the first round are Alabama and Mississippi State at 14-over 302, with LSU and Florida State tied for third at 18-over 306. LSU has the tiebreaker over Florida State and would play with the two co-leaders in the final grouping on Tuesday.
