BATON ROUGE — LSU’s soccer team completed its fall camp on Saturday with a Purple-Gold Intrasquad match at the LSU Soccer Complex in preparation for their season-opening match on Aug. 29 in Baton Rouge.
The Tigers will open the season on Friday, Aug. 29 versus Coastal Carolina at 7 p.m. at the LSU Soccer Complex in game two of the Tiger Classic I. Jackson State will face UL-Lafayette at 5 p.m. Friday to begin the tournament. LSU will square off with Jackson State on Aug. 31 at 1 p.m. and ULL will play Coastal Carolina at 11 a.m.
Junior Artie Brown led the Gold team to a 1-0 win over the Purple in Saturday’s scrimmage with an unassisted goal.
LSU returns seven starters from a 12-5-3 team last season and is lead by head coach George Fotopoulos, who is entering his fourth season at the helm. Fotopoulos, the Tigers’ all-time winningest coach, has compiled a 34-19-6 record in his first three seasons in Baton Rouge.
