BATON ROUGE — LSU offensive lineman Terrell McGill will miss at least two weeks of action after suffering a bruised kidney in the Tigers’ final scrimmage of fall camp on Wednesday, head coach Nick Saban announced on Friday.

McGill, from Miami, Fla., played in five games last year as a true freshman and is expected to see significant action for the Tigers this season. The extent of McGill’s injury was not identified until after the scrimmage was completed on Wednesday.

“Terrell has had an excellent camp and he’s very disappointed that he will be unable to participate for a few weeks,” Saban said. “Any time you have an internal injury, it must be dealt with extreme caution. We are going to take every step necessary to make sure Terrell is completely healthy before putting him back on the field.”

Saban also announced that redshirt freshman quarterback Lester Ricard has decided to transfer to another school.

“Anytime we have a player leave the program, it’s disappointing,” Saban said. “We are hopeful that Lester will be successful in any of his future endeavors.”
