BATON ROUGE — With temperatures in the mid-90s and a heat index near triple digits, approximately 5,000 fans filtered into Tiger Stadium on Sunday afternoon for LSU football’s annual Fan Day festivities.
After watching the Tigers’ two-hour practice, fans poured onto the field in search of autographs from head coach Nick Saban and his staff to the 105 players on the fall camp roster.

As they began entering the stadium at 2 p.m., LSU fans were issued about 10,000 official posters along with pocket schedule cards and this season’s schedule magnet presented by EATEL. Practice lasted two hours, and afterward the players took of their shoulder pads and dotted the yard markers along the sidelines of “Death Valley.”
From the biggest to the smallest and the youngest to the most experienced, LSU fans brought whatever they could carry onto the field to get the most sought after of signatures. Those who didn’t have anything to sign offered the shirt on their back and even the top of their head. Others simply took their picture with their favorite LSU stars of today and tomorrow.
The Tigers return to the Charles McClendon Practice Facility on Monday for their first two-a-day practice. The full squad will practice at 9:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
