Dupree, Temple Tip Off Play in Pro Summer League

ORLANDO, Fla. — Six days after being named to the Detroit Pistons’ Pepsi Pro Summer League roster, former LSU forward Ronald Dupree scored 15 points and guard Collis Temple III had seven, as the five-day league opened play on Tuesday.

Play continues through July 12.

Dupree, who scored 10 second-quarter points to give the Pistons a 47-43 halftime lead, finished 7-of-16 from the field, grabbed seven rebounds, had three steals and dished an assist in 27 minutes of action. As he did from 1999-2003 at LSU, Dupree is wearing No. 12.

Temple, who is wearing No. 4, also came off the bench to play 14 minutes and make 2-of-6 shots from the field, both three-pointers. He added six rebounds and two assists.

Neither Dupree nor Temple were drafted in June. Neither has signed a contract with the Pistons.

Detroit lost to Minnesota, 74-72, when Cal Bowlder scored the game-winning tip-in with 0.9 seconds remaining.

The Pistons’ Summer League Roster also includes former Kentucky forward Tayshaun Prince along with former Florida guard Justin Hamilton.

Another former LSU Tiger, Maurice Carter (1995-99), appeared on the final roster for the Orlando Magic, but did not play in the 107-80 loss to Cleveland and LeBron James on Tuesday.
