Women's Tennis Matches Moved to 9:30 am and 2 p.m. Saturday

LSU-Texas A&M Women’s Tennis Time Changed

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Start times for the women’s NCAA first and second round tennis championships at Texas A&M were changed Monday by the NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Committee.

The women’s committee reconsidered its prior approval of A&M’s match times for the championship which begins play on Friday at the A&M Tennis Center.

Both the A&M men’s and women’s teams will be serving as hosts for the first and second round.

Play in the women’s bracket will now begin at 1 p.m. on Friday with A&M hosting LSU on the stadium courts, while No. 4-seeded California will face Army on the grandstand courts. Those matches were originally scheduled for 7 p.m.

That action will be followed with men’s first round play at 4 p.m. on Friday with the No. 10-seeded A&M men hosting Maryland-Baltimore County on the stadium courts, while Georgia will face South Florida on the grandstand courts. The 4 p.m. start is the originally announced first serve.

Second round action will be contested on Saturday with the women’s winners playing at 1 p.m., while the men’s winners will play at 4 p.m. Those matches were originally scheduled for 2 p.m. for the men and 5 p.m. for the women.

The Aggie men are in the midst of their fourth straight 20-win season at 21-9 overall. The Aggie women are the Big 12 Champions with a record of 19-10 overall.

Tickets for the NCAA First and Second Round are on sale at the A&M Athletic Ticket Office. The ticket office phone number is 1-888-99-AGGIE or 979-845-2311. A ticket for all sessions of the men’s and women’s tournaments is $15. Individual session tickets are $10 each for stadium seating and $6 for adult general admission. Youth and student general admission tickets are $5 each.
