BATON ROUGE — Jerel Myers, a four-year starter at wide receiver for LSU, has signed a free agent contract with the Buffalo Bills, the team announced on Tuesday.
In addition, fellow Tiger Kenderick Allen became a member of the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday after signing a free agent deal with the organization.
Myers and Allen became the fifth and sixth Tigers to land with NFL teams since Sunday. Running back Domanick Davis (Houston Texans), linebacker Bradie James (Dallas Cowboys), running back LaBrandon Toefield (Jacksonville Jaguars) were all fourth round draft pick selections, while safety Norman LeJeune (Philadelphia Eagles) was taken in the seventh round of the draft.
In four years with the Tigers, Myers ranked fourth in school history with 149 receptions for 1,843 yards, which ranks eighth in all-time at LSU. Myers started in 46 of the 47 games he played during his career, which included starts in three bowl games.
As a freshman, Myers earned Freshman All-America honors after catching then a Southeastern Conference freshman record 64 passes for 854 yards. Myers capped his LSU career at the East-West Shrine Classic, where he led all receivers with six catches for 148 yards.
Allen, a starter on the defensive line for the Tigers in 2001 and 2002, capped his career at LSU with 92 tackles and three sacks. Allen, one of the most imposing figures to ever wear an LSU jersey at 6-foot-6, 320 pounds, played in 48 games with 18 starts during his four years with the Tigers.
Allen’s best season came in 2000 as a sophomore as he recorded 28 tackles, four for losses, with a pair of sacks for the 8-4 Tigers.
