SEA ISLAND, Ga. — The LSU men’s golf team shot a 29-over par 309 on Saturday in the second round of the 2003 SEC Championship at the Sea Island Golf Club in Sea Island, Ga., to head into the final round in 12th place overall.

Tennessee and Georgia are tied for the lead heading into Sunday’s final round at 17-over par 577. The Volunteers shot an 8-over par 288 on Saturday while Georgia shot a 9-over 289. Georgia’s Kevin Kisner is the leading individual after 36 holes at 4-under par 136. Florida’s Brett Stegmaier is in second place at 1-under par 139.

South Carolina fired a tournament-low 5-under par 285 on Saturday and is in third place at 23-over par 583. Auburn is in fourth place at 24-over 584 and Alabama and Florida are tied for fifth place at 25-over 585.

Senior John Humphries is tied for 13th place at 5-over par 145 after shooting a 4-over par 74 Saturday. Humphries fired a 1-over 71 in the first round on Friday. Sophomore Tucker Ervin shot a 2-over par 72 in round two and is currently tied for 36th place at 12-over 152. Sophomore Heath West shot a 5-over 75 and is tied for 43rd place at 14-over par 154.

Freshman David Aitchison shot an 18-over par 88 and is alone in 59th place at 34-over 174. Aaron Smith shot a 20-over 90 and is in 60th place at 35-over par 175.

LSU is paired with Mississippi State and Vanderbilt for Sunday’s third and final round and will tee off at 8 a.m.
