EUGENE, Ore. — Just hours from tip-off of its NCAA Tournament opening game against Southwest Texas (11:36 p.m. CST, ESPN2), the top-seeded LSU women’s basketball team went through a one-hour walk-through and its pregame meal. View the Photo Gallery from gameday in Eugene.
Team members spent much of the morning resting and watching the first eight games of the tournament on ESPN and ESPN2 from around the country.
After a late breakfast, the bussed through the never-ending rain to the campus of the University of Oregon for its walk-through practice. The Lady Tigers went over Southwest Texas’ tendencies and its own strategy before return to the hotel to rest and have its pregame meal together at the team hotel.
LSU will depart for McArthur Court a little earlier than usual in order to take a look at a potential second-round opponent, as No. 8-seeded Wisconsin-Green Bay faces No. 9-seeded Washington at 7:06 p.m. PST.
Both the UW-Green Bay-Washington game and the LSU-Southwest Texas game were pushed back an hour to accommodate ESPN2.
