Men's Golf Opens Season at Bank of Tennessee

Men’s Golf Climbs to 10th at Conrad Rehling

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The LSU men’s golf team fired a 21-over par 305 on Saturday at the Conrad Rehling Alabama Invite to fall to 10th place.

The Tigers are 35-over for the weekend and trail leader Auburn by 33 strokes. Southeastern Conference foes Kentucky, Alabama and Ole Miss are also ahead of LSU in second, third and ninth, respectively. Mississippi State is the sixth league school in the tournament and they trail LSU by 25 shots.

John Humphries has paced LSU so far. After shooting a 7-over 78 on Saturday, Humphries fell from third place to 22nd. At 6-over through 36 hoes, Humphries is 12 shots behind leader Jay Mundy of Auburn, but is only three strokes out of the top ten.

Heath West and Brandon Aydlett are also having solid tournament in 52nd and 57th place, respectively. West shot a 76 on Saturday and is 11-over thus far. Aydlett followed his first-round 75 with a 79 to drop to 12-over.

Sunday’s round will be the final of the event.
