BATON ROUGE — The LSU women’s tennis team wraps up a four-match homestand on Sunday at 1 p.m. when it hosts fifth-ranked Georgia at the W.T. “Dub” Robinson Stadium.
The Lady Tigers (7-7, 1-4 Southeastern Conference) will try to avoid their fourth straight loss when they meet the Bulldogs (10-1, 5-0), who have won
“They are very comparable to the Tennessee team we faced on Friday,” said Lady Tiger head coach Tony Minnis. “They have a great player at the top of the line up and a lot of depth below her.”
Georgia brings a lineup to Baton Rouge that features the No. 1 singles player in the nation, Agata Cioroch. She also teams up with Lori Grey to form the nation’s top-ranked doubles team. The Bulldogs also feature 63rd-ranked Tina Hojnik.
Georgia beat Arkansas on Friday, 7-0, without losing a set in singles play.
The Lady Tigers line up will feature Rocio Fantili, Daysi Espinal and Marina Chiarelli, who are all tied for the team lead in wins this year with 14. Fantili teams with Lauren Seamen to forge LSU’s top doubles pair at 11-9 on the year.
