COLUMBIA, S.C. — The 21st-ranked LSU men’s tennis team will hit the road this weekend for two crucial Southeastern Conference matches beginning Friday with a match against No. 14 South Carolina at 1 p.m. at the Maxcy Gregg Tennis Facility.
The Tigers (7-2, 1-1 SEC) moved up two spots in the Omni Hotels Collegiate Tennis Rankings on Wednesday after defeating No. 19 Auburn last Sunday in Baton Rouge, 6-1, to earn their biggest win so far this season.
“This is simply another match against a top-ranked SEC team as is the case every weekend in this league,” said LSU head coach Jeff Brown. “We prepare the same for every match in the SEC and that is what we will do to be ready for two more tough teams this weekend.”
The road swing continues on Sunday when the Tigers face No. 2 Florida at 1 p.m. in Gainesville, Fla. LSU will stay on the road next week to face Tennessee and Georgia before coming home to host Texas, Vanderbilt, and Kentucky.
