BATON ROUGE — The LSU Athletic Department and the Southeastern Conference announced Monday that the LSU-Alabama men’s basketball game has been moved up to Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. to accommodate a regional television broadcast.

The game was originally scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Maravich Assembly Center.

Jefferson Pilot Sports is allowed to choose two wildcard telecasts for the final Saturday of the regular season. Auburn at Mississippi State will be the 3 p.m. game with LSU and Alabama opening the doubleheader at 1 p.m.

With the time change, fans are reminded to come early for the Senior Day ceremonies honoring Brad Bridgewater, Torris Bright, Thomas Davis, Ronald Dupree, Brian Green and Collis Temple III that will begin at approximately 12:45 p.m. At halftime, one of the most popular halftime entertainers to appear at an LSU basketball game, the magical act “Quick Change” will make an appearance at the Assembly Center.

Tickets for the game are on sale for $10 at the LSU Athletic Ticket Office and on the Internet at www.LSUsports.net.

In conjunction with this change, the LSU Athletic Department also announced that the baseball game between LSU and Winthrop would also change starting time 90 minutes, moving from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. to allow fans to attend both contests Saturday on the campus. That will be the middle game of a three-game series between the two teams that begins on Friday night at 6:30 p.m. and concludes Sunday at 1 p.m.
