OXFORD, Miss. — LSU’s fourth-ranked Lady Tigers basketball team is back on the road following a two-game home swing to play Ole Miss on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Tad Smith Coliseum.

LSU (22-1, 9-1 SEC) took a break from the Southeastern Conference last week and it took three overtime periods to defeat Big West power UC-Santa Barbara 94-90. Including that win, the Lady Tigers have won seven straight games and six in a row in the SEC.

Ole Miss (12-11, 1-9 SEC) is coming off a loss to Vanderbilt last Thursday and have not played in a week. The Lady Rebels have dropped four straight games and nine straight in the SEC since defeating Florida in the conference opener.

Seimone Augustus leads the Lady Tigers. The freshman is averaging 15.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Aiysha Smith, a finalist for the Naismith Player of the Year award, is not far behind, averaging 12.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per contest.

Amber Watts leads Ole Miss. The sophomore center is scoring 12.2 points and grabbing 8.6 rebounds per game.

This is the 34th meeting between the two SEC foes and the second time the two teams will meet this season. LSU defeated Ole Miss 71-54 in Baton Rouge on Jan. 12 in the second conference game of the year. The Lady Rebels lead the series with 18 wins, but LSU has won five straight in the series. Ole Miss also leads 10-6 in games played in Oxford.

Following the game, LSU returns home for the final two home games of the season starting with No. 3 Tennessee on Sunday at 4 p.m. in the PMAC.
