BATON ROUGE — Cox Sports Television (CST) announced on Monday that it would rebroadcast the LSU women’s basketball team’s thrilling 94-90 triple-overtime win over Cal-Santa Barbara at 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
The game was played last Saturday in the Maravich Assembly Center and then televised for the first time on Sunday afternoon on CST. The rebroadcast can be seen in the Baton Rouge area on cable ch. 38 at 9 p.m. on Feb. 18.
Dubbed a “Classic Encore” by CST, the contest featured the first triple-overtime game in school history. LSU’s Aiysha Smith paced the Lady Tigers with 30 points and 11 rebounds in 51 minutes of action, while freshman sensation Seimone Augustus had 20 points and seven rebounds in a school-record 53 minutes of action.
With the win, the fourth-ranked Lady Tigers improved to 22-1 overall and setup a showdown next Sunday in the Maravich Assembly Center with third-ranked Tennessee. Tickets for the LSU-Tennessee contest, which starts at 4 p.m. on Feb. 23, are still available at the LSU Ticket Office.
