BATON ROUGE — The LSU swimming and diving teams will host its final non-conference home meet of the season on Friday against Delta State and Louisiana-Monroe at 6 p.m. at the LSU Natatorium.
This will be LSU’s first appearance against Delta State in school history. LSU is 25-2 all-time against Louisiana-Monroe and swept last season’s dual meet in Baton Rouge. LSU
lost to Florida State in a dual meet last Saturday in Tallahassee, Fla., in both men’s and women’s action.
Friday’s meet will have 12 events including both 1- and 3-meter diving and both the 200-yard medley relay and 200-yard freestyle relay.
LSU will have a quick turnaround this weekend as they will host the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday at noon. The Tigers will celebrate Senior Day as it is the final home meet of the season and will honor 11 seniors in a pre-meet ceremony.
“This is going to be a big weekend for us and it starts on Friday,” said LSU head coach Jeff Cavana. “Saturday will also be huge just because it is Kentucky, but we first need to focus on doing well versus ULM and Delta State on Friday night”.
Next up for LSU following the weekend at home will be the 2003 Southeastern Conference Championships Feb. 19-22 in Auburn, Ala.
