BATON ROUGE — LSU’s sixth-ranked Lady Tigers, fresh off their largest road win in conference history, returns to the Pete Maravich Assembly Center to host No. 17 Vanderbilt at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

The Lady Tigers (16-1, 4-1 SEC) defeated Florida 94-54 on Thursday at the O’Connell Center and are sitting in third-place in the Southeastern Conference behind unbeaten Tennessee and Georgia.

Vanderbilt (12-5, 2-2 SEC) has won two straight games, including a 76-59 victory over then first-place Arkansas at home on Thursday.

Freshman Seimone Augustus leads LSU into the game. The 6-1 forward is averaging 14.3 points per game, including 15.2 in SEC play. Senior Aiysha Smith is not far behind, scoring 11.4 points per outing, while junior Doneeka Hodges is post 14.3 points per conference contest.

Senior center Chantelle Anderson leads the Commodores into the game. The 6-6 All-America is scoring 18.2 points per game, while forward Jenni Benningfield is averaging 16.2 points and 8.4 rebounds per outing. VU might be without the services of point guard Ashley McElhiney who missed the Arkansas game due to an ankle sprain and is listed day-to-day.

This is thw 24th meeting between the two schools. Vanderbilt holds a 13-10 advantage, including winning each of the last six meetings. LSU does hold a 6-2 series lead in games played in Baton Rouge. The Commodores won the last meeting, 64-53 in last year’s SEC Tournament Championship games in Nashville.

Following the game, LSU will have a week off before hosting Georgia at the PMAC on Feb. 2 at 2 p.m. CST.
