Doneeka Hodges Named LSWA Player of the Week

BATON ROUGE — LSU’s Doneeka Hodges and Louisiana Tech’s Antonio Meeking were selected as the Players of the Week by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association for women’s and men’s basketball.

Hodges, a 5-11 guard from New Orleans, helped the Lady Tigers to a split of their Southeastern Conference games during the week. The junior poured in 24 points on a career-high six three-pointers in LSU’s victory over Kentucky and had a game-high 26 points in Sunday’s loss at 10th-ranked Arkansas.

Meeking, a 6-8 senior from Farmerville, La., averaged 29 points and 11 rebounds in the Bulldog’s two games during the week. He poured in a career-high 34 points and grabbed 15 rebounds against Nevada. The forward is ranked in the top three in points, rebounds and field goal percentage in the Western Athletic Conference.
