ATLANTA — LSU men’s tennis players Jason Hazley, Peter Richman and Paul White each advanced to the second round of the singles competition at the 2003 Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships on Thursday here in Atlanta, Ga.
White, the Tigers’ highly touted freshman from Lake Charles, knocked off Tennessee’s Wade Orr, 5-7, 6-2, 6-1, while 124th-ranked Hazley defeated the Volunteers’ Vincent Perna, 6-1, 7-6(2) and Richman advanced past South Carolina’s Marcus Westman in three sets, 7-5, 5-7, 6-3.
With the victory, Hazley improved to 7-6 on the season while Richman and White upped their singles records to 5-4.
Play will resume at the 2003 SEC Indoor Championships at 7 a.m. (CST) on Friday at the Racquet Club of the South in Atlanta, Ga.
