BATON ROUGE — LSU’s second-ranked Lady Tigers basketball team hosts Ole Miss in the Southeastern Conference home opener on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Both teams are coming off wins in the conference opener on Thursday night.

LSU (13-0, 1-0 SEC) defeated Auburn 54-45 at Auburn, while Ole Miss (11-2, 1-0 SEC) upended Florida at home 74-72.

Seimone Augustus led LSU to the victory on Thursday, scoring 19 points in her SEC debut, while Aiysha Smith added 12 points and 12 rebounds and DeTrina White chipped in with 12 boards of her own.

Augustus leads the Lady Tigers into today’s game. The freshman for Baton Rouge is averaging 14.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per contest. Smith is next, scoring 12.1 points and grabbing 5.6 rebounds.

Sophomore Ambers Watts leads the Lady Rebels into the game. She is scoring 11.9 points and grabbing 8.5 rebounds per game.

This will be the 33rd meeting between the SEC rivals. Ole Miss leads the series 18-14, but LSU has won the last four meetings, including a season sweep last year. Ole Miss also leads the series 8-7 in Baton Rouge, but again LSU has won the last four games in the series at home.

Following the game, LSU will continue the mini-home stand by hosting Kentucky in SEC play on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the PMAC.
