LeJeune To Participate in Hula Bowl

BATON ROUGE — LSU strong safety Norman LeJeune has been invited to participate in the Hula Bowl next month in Maui, Hawaii, the all-star game announced on Wednesday.

LeJeune, a Brusly, La., native, will play the cornerback position in the game and he’s expected to be a member of the South squad. The Hula Bowl will announce the rosters for the game later this week.

The game is set for Saturday, Feb. 1, at War Memorial Stadium in Maui, Hawaii. Kickoff for the contest is 8 p.m. CT and the game will be televised to a national audience on ESPN.

Head coaches for the contest are Mack Brown of Texas and Larry Coker of Miami.

In four years with the Tigers, LeJeune played in 44 games with 24 starts. He finished with 250 career tackles, including a career-best 107 in 2002. LeJeune intercepted two passes, had five sacks and registered 17 tackles for losses during his career at LSU.

As a senior in 2002, LeJeune started all 13 games at strong safety for the Tigers, finishing second on the team with 107 tackles and ranking second on the squad with five sacks. LeJeune also broke up 15 passes, had 10 tackles for losses and recorded four quarterback hurries for the 8-5 Tigers in 2002.
