BATON ROUGE — LSU’s Aiysha Smith and Louisiana Tech’s Lavelle Felton were named the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Players of the Week.
Smith, a 6-2 senior for the Lady Tigers, led LSU to victories over North Texas and No. 15 Penn State during the week. The Detroit, Mich., native scored a season-high 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the win over PSU on Saturday and added 16 points at North Texas.
Felton, a senior from Milwaukee, Wis., led Tech to a victory over SMU with a career-high 27 points and nine rebounds on Saturday. He also scored nine points and dished out five assists in a loss at seventh-ranked Texas during the week.
