BATON ROUGE — LSU’s second-ranked Lady Tigers will play their third game is four days on Saturday at 1 p.m. when they host Southwest Texas in the third game of a four-game home stand in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
The Lady Tigers, a perfect 8-0 following wins over Ohio and Louisville to claim the www.WOMENSCOLLEGEHOOPS.com Classic this past Wednesday and
Thursday. SWT enters the game with a 1-6 record and have lost of three straight games.
Freshman Seimone Augustus leads LSU into the match up. The 6-1 Baton Rouge native is scoring a team-high 15.8 points per game and is shooting a team-best 65.9 percent from the floor. She is coming off MVP honors for her performance in the www.WOMENSCOLLEGEHOOPS.com Classic. Senior Aiysha Smith is also averaging in double figures in the scoring column, posting 10.3 points per outing.
Sophomore center Tori Talbert leads the Bobcats into the game. She is averaging 17.4 points and 12.3 rebounds per game.
This will be the third meeting between the two schools. The series is tied at one victory each. LSU’s win came in 1993 in Baton Rouge, while SWT defeated the Lady Tigers the San Marcos the following season.
After the game, LSU will have a week off for the holiday break before hosting Texas on Dec. 28 at 2 p.m. CST in the PMAC.
