Former Tiger Dupree Selected in CBA Draft

Dupree Named LSWA Player of the Week

BATON ROUGE — LSU’s Ronald Dupree and Centenary’s Andrew Wisniewski shared the men’s Louisiana Sports Writers Association Player of the Week, while Tulane’s Gwen Slaughter received the award on the women’s side.

Dupree, a 6-7 senior forward from Biloxi, Miss., averaged 19.3 points and 6.7 rebounds in three LSU victories in December. He led the way with 22 points and six rebounds in a win over McNeese State and had 18 points in wins over both Delaware State and Texas A&M-Corpus Cristi.

Slaughter, a 6-3 senior forward from Mamou, La., was also named the Conference USA Player of the Week after leading the Green Wave to a 74-61 victory over Drake with 20 points, 16 rebounds, five blocks and four steals.

Both her points and blocks were career highs.

Wisniewski, a junior guard for the Gents, averaged 25 points in three games in December, leading Centenary to two victories. In the two wins her averaged 31.5 points and shot 64.2 percent from the floor.
