BATON ROUGE — LSU’s women’s basketball team remained No. 2 in the Associated Press poll and third in USA Today/ESPN coaches poll, both released on Tuesday.
The Lady Tigers defeated Alabama State 65-19 last Saturday to move to a perfect 6-0.
LSU received a first-place vote in the AP poll and 1,023 points to fall behind top-ranked Duke. UConn is third, followed by Tennessee and Stanford.
The Lady Tigers got 911 points from the coaches in the USA Today/ESPN poll and are behind Duke and UConn.
The Lady Tigers are off this week for final exams and return to the court for the WOMENSCOLLEGEHOOPS.com Classic on Dec. 18 and 19 in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. New Orleans and Louisville will open the tournament at 5 p.m. on the 18th, while LSU will play Ohio in the second game at 7 p.m. CST. The consolation and championship games will be on the 19th at 5 and 7 p.m. respectively.
