BATON ROUGE — LSU running back Joseph Addai, linebacker Cameron Vaughn and offensive lineman Andrew Whitworth were named to the 2002 Southeastern Conferences’ Coaches All-Freshman Team on Monday.
Addai, a redshirt freshman from Houston, played in 11 of 12 games this season and rushed for 433 yards on 79 carries and scored four touchdowns. He was the second-leading rusher on the team. Addai also had one 100-yard rushing game during the season as he rushed for 104 yards on 11 carries against Louisiana-Lafayette and scored two touchdowns .
Vaughn, a true freshman from Terrytown, La., played in all 12 games for the Tigers and totaled 38 tackles, including three tackles for loss and had two sacks.
Whitworth, a redshirt freshman from West Monroe was LSU’s starting left tackle in all 12 games and allowed only two sacks all season.
