BATON ROUGE — Bradie James earned his second First Team All-America honor in as many days on Friday as the linebacker earned a spot on the CBS Sportsline.com team.
James, a senior from West Monroe, La., was named First Team All-America by the American Football Coaches Association on Thursday.
James led the Tigers and ranked third in the SEC with 147 tackles, just four shy of breaking the school record of 150 set by Al Richardson in 1981. For his career, James has 411 tackles, the second-highest total in school history.
For the season, James recorded double-figure tackles in eight of LSU’s 12 games, including a season-best of 19 against Virginia Tech. James also had double-figures tackles in six of the Tigers’ eight league games, including 18 in the season-finale against Arkansas.
James is one of four Southeastern Conference players on the team. He’s joined on the squad by Georgia defensive end David Pollack, Kentucky punter Glenn Pakulak and Kentucky return specialist Derek Abney.
