BATON ROUGE — LSU cross country runner Tomario Thomas was named the SEC’s Male Cross Country Athlete of the Week it was announced Tuesday by the conference office.
Thomas, a Bossier City, La. native, led LSU to its second team win of the season Saturday at the LSU Invitational. The sophomore was the Tigers’ top finisher in the 8K finishing eighth overall and fifth among collegiate competitors with a time of 26:29.35.
The LSU men’s team has now won two of the three meets in which it has entered this season, taking team titles at both the Tulane Invitational and LSU Invitational.
The Tigers look to continue their winning ways Sat., Oct. 5 when they travel to Terra Haute, Ind. for the Indiana State Invitational.
