HUMBLE, Texas — The LSU women’s tennis team will brave the remnants of Tropical Storm Isidore on Friday, as the Tigers begin competition in the 2002 Rice Tennis Classic held at the Kingwood Country Club in Humble, Texas.
“We’re going to see what improvements we’ve made since last week’s competition,” said LSU head coach Tony Minnis. “I think that our players looked very good, but there is always room for improvement. We’ve made some minor changes and this weekend will be an opportunity to see how they’ve adjusted.”
The 2002 Rice Tennis Classic will feature both individuals and doubles teams from Arizona, Long Beach State, LSU, Minnesota, Rice and Southern Methodist.
Play is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on Friday and will conclude with the championship matches on Sunday.
