BATON ROUGE — Brian Miller, the former Sports Information Director at Louisiana Tech, has been named Associate Sports Information Director at LSU.
Miller comes to LSU from Auburn University, where he served as associate SID since 1999. At LSU, Miller will handle publicity for the nationally ranked women’s basketball team as well as serving as the top media relations assistant for the football team.
Miller replaces Fred Demarest, who left LSU last month to join the University of Florida Athletic Department.
“We’re excited and very fortunate to have Brian join our staff,” SID Michael Bonnette said. “He has an outstanding background in college athletics and he’ll bring a great deal of knowledge and new ideas to our staff and to the entire athletic department.”
Prior to his stint at Auburn, Miller served as the SID at Louisiana Tech in 1998-99. He was an assistant at Louisiana Tech from 1996-98 after beginning his career at Florida Atlantic in 1996 as an assistant SID.
Miller, a native of Hamilton, N.Y., graduated with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Northeastern University in 1996 and he’s married to the former Stacy Hill, a Magham, La., native.
