NCAA Regional Tickets Sold Out

BATON ROUGE — Ticket booklets for the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional at Alex Box Stadium have sold out, LSU ticket manager Brian Broussard said Tuesday afternoon.

Tickets that were not purchased last week by LSU season ticket holders went on sale at 8 a.m. Tuesday, and they were sold out by early afternoon.

LSU was named Monday as a baseball regional host site for the 13th straight year. The regional begins at 2 p.m. Friday when top-seeded LSU faces No. 4 seed Southern. Friday’s second game begins at 7 p.m., as No. 2 seed Louisiana-Lafayette will take on No. 3 seed Tulane.

The regional continues with three games Saturday (11 a.m., 3 p.m., 7:30 p.m.), and the championship round begins at 1 p.m. Sunday.

The winner of the Baton Rouge Regional advances to the Super Regional round versus the winner of the Houston Regional. The Houston Regional includes No. 1 seed Rice, No. 2 seed Texas Tech, No. 3 seed Washington and No. 4 seed Harvard.

The baseball regional is one of two NCAA championship events being held this weekend on the LSU campus. The NCAA Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field meet takes place Wednesday through Saturday at Bernie Moore Stadium.

With the expected large volume of traffic due to the two events, fans are asked to arrive on campus early on Friday and Saturday. Parking near Alex Box Stadium may be limited, so baseball fans are encouraged to seek parking spaces at the Special Olympics pool west of Alex Box on Skip Bertman Drive.

Fans who drive motor homes to campus must park them in the ROTC lot at the Nicholson Drive extension, or in the Touchdown Village lot across from the CEBA building on the old LSU golf course. Motor homes will not be permitted to park in the West or South lots of Tiger Stadium.
