Crescent City Tigers to Host 59th-Annual LSU Sports Banquet

LSU 18th in Latest Sears Directors’ Cup Rankings

BATON ROUGE — The LSU athletics program is currently ranked No. 18 in the nation in the Sears Directors’ Cup, the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) announced on Monday.

The Tigers have accumulated 427 points and they stand just 98 points out of 10th place. The latest standings release includes the sports of men’s and women’s basketball, swimming, gymnastics, ice hockey, indoor track and field, men’s wrestling, fencing, rifle and skiing.

Stanford leads the standings with 1,125 points, while North Carolina is second with 715 points. LSU ranks third among Southeastern Conference schools in the standings. Florida is the top rated SEC team in fifth place with 601 points, while Tennessee stands in 15th place with 436.5 points.

LSU received 100 points for its first place national finish in women’s indoor track and field, 83 points for its third place finish in men’s indoor track and field, 64 points for its ninth place finish in women’s gymnastics and 62 points for its eighth place finish in football. The Tigers were also awarded 48 points in women’s swimming, 40 in men’s swimming and 30 in women’s basketball.

Last year, LSU finished its athletic year ranked No. 22 in the Sears Directors’ Cup.
