BATON ROUGE — LSU continued spring drills on Wednesday as the Tigers held their 10th practice with a two-hour session here at the LSU Practice Facility.
The Tigers will take Thursday off before returning to practice on Friday. LSU will hold its second scrimmage of the spring at 1 p.m. on Saturday in Tiger Stadium.
“I was pleased with practice today,” LSU coach Nick Saban said. “Monday (practices) sometimes is a little like pulling teeth because players are coming off a scrimmage and you not only make corrections from the scrimmage, but you continue to try to do other things and put things in.
“I was really pleased with the way we bounced back today. I think the most encouraging thing about today’s practice was the offense really made some outstanding plays. The timing in the passing game seemed to be a little bit better and we made some big plays. Bennie Brazell, who is not there all the time and won’t be in the scrimmage, made some big plays. Devery Henderson made some big plays. Shyrone Carey looks like he is coming around and Jerel Myers has had a good spring.
“Matt Mauck threw the ball a little bit better and was a little bit more consistent. I think all the way around offensively we looked like we gelled a little bit today.”
