NEW ORLEANS — The LSU soccer team remained undefeated in spring soccer action on Sunday, as the Tigers improved to 9-0 with a 1-0 win over the Tulane Green Wave on the road in New Orleans.
“I really feel good about how we’re playing right now,” said LSU head coach George Fotopoulos. “We’ve picked up nine big wins during the spring and I think that we are back on pace to where we need to be as a program.”
LSU’s second-team All-Southeastern Conference member, Artie Brown, recorded the lone goal of Sunday’s contest. The Tigers’ soon-to-be sophomore led LSU in scoring last season with eight goals and was named the Louisiana Freshman of the Year.
The Tigers were led in goal by Robyn Desormeaux who posted a shutout against the scrappy Tulane squad. LSU’s sophomore-to-be from Carencro has earned six shutouts this spring.
The LSU soccer team will begin its fall season on Aug. 31, as the Tigers travel to Nacogdoches, Texas, for a non-conference duel with Stephen F. Austin.
