BATON ROUGE — The Owens Corning National Invitation Tournament Executive Committee called LSU officials late Friday morning and informed them that LSU would host a second round NIT game Tuesday, March 19, at 7 p.m. at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

The Tigers will face Ball State, which beat Saint Joseph’s on Friday night in Philadelphia, 76-54.

This will be the first post-season NIT game played in Baton Rouge since 1983 when LSU and UNO faced off in a first round game.

Tickets for the game will be available Saturday at the LSU Athletic Ticket Office from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets can also be ordered by phone during that time at by calling 225-578-2184 or 1-800-960-8587. Tickets are priced at $15 for lower seats, $14 for the middle level and $12 for the upper seats. Student tickets, also on sale Saturday, are $4.

The LSU Ticket Office will also be open on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and will extend normal office hours on Monday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Those season ticket holders who ordered tickets Wednesday through Friday may pick those tickets up any time beginning on Saturday. LSU officials request that those who order tickets pick them up prior to game night to avoid long lines at the ticket window at the Assembly Center.

LSU is 19-14 on the season, having won five of its last six games and seven of its last 10, including a 63-61 first round win at Iowa on Wednesday. The other half of the LSU bracket will have UNLV going to South Carolina also on Tuesday. The winner of the LSU-Ball State/Saint Joseph game meets the UNLV/Carolina game later next week for the right to go to the semifinals in Madison Square Garden in New York City.
