BATON ROUGE — The LSU softball team remained fourth in the nation according to the latest USA Today/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25, which was released Wednesday.
The Tigers are in the No. 4 position for the third straight week. LSU went 3-0 last week with a series sweep of Southeastern Conference foe Florida.
UCLA topped the poll for the third straight week while Arizona continued to gain ground from the No. 2 position. Stanford is third and Nebraska, which split two meetings with LSU this season, is was fifth.
The SEC was once represented with four teams as Alabama came in 17th while Georgia, and South Carolina registered in at 21st and 24th, respectively.
Georgia is tied for the nation’s best record at 25-2. Mississippi State had been in the poll, but fell out.
LSU takes to the road this weekend with an SEC series at Tennessee which begins Saturday at Noon. with a doubleheader. The Tigers are currently sitting atop the SEC Western Division with a 3-0 mark.
