Green, Temple Named to SEC Academic Honor Roll

BATON ROUGE — Two LSU men’s basketball team members were among the 18 student-athletes named to the 2002 SEC Men’s Basketball Academic Honor Roll Tuesday.

To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must: 1) have a 3.0 grade point average for either the past year or a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for their career; 2) be a sophomore or higher in terms of academic classification; and 3) have 24 semester or 36 quarter hours toward a degree.

The 2002 SEC Men’s Basketball Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2000-2001 academic calendar.

Making the team from LSU is Brian Green, with a 4.00 GPA in biology and Collis Temple III, who completed his undergraduate degree program in business administration with a 3.14 and is presently working on his master’s degree.

The Tigers open SEC Tournament play on Thursday at Noon CST at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Ga., against the Vanderbilt Commodores.
