BATON ROUGE — LSU forward Ronald Dupree earned second team All-Southeastern Conference honors Monday on the team voted by the league coaches and announced by the league.
Dupree, a junior from Biloxi, Miss., moved up one team from his sophomore season when he finished on the third team as voted by the coaches.
Dupree is averaging 16.7 points per game and 8.6 rebounds as the leading scorer and rebounder for the 16-13 LSU Tigers entering Thursday’s SEC Tournament game at Noon CST at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Ga., against Vanderbilt.
Alabama swept the major awards voted on by the league coaches, as Crimson Tide head coach Mark Gottfried was awarded SEC Coach of the Year honors while forward/center Erwin Dudley was named SEC Player of the Year and guard Maurice Williams earned SEC Freshman of the Year honors.
