Cold Weather Forces Cancellation of Remaining Games
BATON ROUGE — In the top of the second inning, a light snow flurry began to fall and that was the last straw for LSU head coach Yvette Girouard, who then met with McNeese coach Scott Eastman as the two decided to call the game.
The game was tied 0-0 after one full inning of play. Earlier in the day UAB and Long Island had battled freezing temperatures as the Blackbirds escaped with a 2-1 victory.
At no point during the day did the temperature reach above 30 degrees and there was a wind chill of 19 degrees at the time of cancellation.
Girouard also decided to cancel the rest of the days games as the weather was not expected to improve. No make-ups will be scheduled.
