BATON ROUGE — The first day of the Purple and Gold Challenge softball tournament has been called off due to rain.
Friday’s five games have been moved to Sunday with a 9 a.m. start time while Saturday’s schedule will remain the same.
The tournament, which is hosting Georgia Tech, McNeese State, Long Island and UAB, was originally slated to have two days of round-robin play before a bracket play began on Sunday.

Saturday, March 21
10 a.m. — Georgia Tech vs. McNeese State
Noon — McNeese State vs. UAB
2 p.m. — UAB vs. LSU
4 p.m. — Georgia Tech vs. Long Island
6 p.m. — Long Island vs. LSU
Sunday, March 31
9 a.m. — Long Island vs. UAB
11 a.m. — McNeese State vs. LSU
1 p.m. — UAB vs. Georgia Tech
3 p.m. — Georgia Tech vs. LSU
5 p.m. — Long Island vs. McNeese State
