Men’s Tennis Match With ULM Postponed to March 19

BATON ROUGE — Tuesday’s men’s tennis match between the 16th-ranked LSU Fighting Tigers and the Louisiana-Monroe Indians was postponed on Monday due to expected inclement weather in the Baton Rouge area.

“We are expecting it to be in the 40’s tomorrow with winds of 15 to 20 miles per hour,” said LSU head coach Jeff Brown. “That’s not exactly tennis weather and we feel as if it is in the best interest of both teams to delay the match for a couple of weeks until the weather gets a bit better.”

LSU (3-1) was scheduled to play Louisiana-Monroe on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the W.T. “Dub” Robinson Tennis Stadium. On Monday, the head coaches of each team agreed to reschedule the in-state battle for March 19 at 2 p.m.

The 16th-ranked LSU men’s tennis team will next be in action on Friday, March 1, as the Tigers open Southeastern Conference play on the road against Alabama at 1 p.m.
