BATON ROUGE — LSU’s 47-34 win over seventh-ranked Illinois in the Nokia Sugar Bowl on January 1 in New Orleans will be re-broadcast in the Baton Rouge area on WBRZ-TV (Cable channel 5) on Sunday starting at 11 a.m.
The game was originally televised to a prime time national audience on ABC-TV.
The win over Illinois propelled the Tigers to a 10-3 overall mark and a final national ranking of No. 7. The victory also marked LSU’s first New Year’s Day bowl victory since a 20-13 win over Wyoming in the Sugar Bowl.
This year’s Sugar Bowl contest marked the last LSU game for three Tiger standouts — quarterback Rohan Davey, wide receiver Josh Reed and linebacker Trev Faulk. Davey, who was named the game’s most valuable player, completed 31 of 53 passes for 444 yards and three touchdowns, while Reed caught 14 passes for 239 yards and a pair of scores.
