FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The LSU Tigers, coming off a 68-65 win over Mississippi State, try to continue the streak Saturday afternoon at Bud Walton Arena against the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Tip off is 2 p.m. There is no television for the game, but it will be broadcast in Louisiana on the LSU Sports Network (Eagle 98.1 FM in Baton Rouge) and on the Internet at www.LSUsports.net.

The Tigers (12-11, 3-8) rallied from 15 down in the second half Wednesday to break a six-game losing streak in league games. Arkansas has loss seven of the last eight games and is coming off a 64-53 loss at Tennessee on Wednesday. The Razorbacks are 12-11 overall and 4-7 in the SEC Western Division.

With Collis Temple III expected to miss a third game, LSU will need another strong effort from others besides top scorers Ronald Dupree and Torris Bright. The Tigers got that in the State game from Antonio Hudson and Jermaine Williams. Hudson started and had a career high of 23 points for the Tigers, while Williams played another strong defensive game and had 10 points.

“We were able to get a much needed win against a real good Mississippi State team,” said LSU Coach John Brady. “We just had some guys besides Ronald Dupree score some points. We had several guys in double digits. If we can start scoring 65 points per game, we can snag a couple of more wins before the season is over.”

LSU won the first meeting between the two teams, 75-69, early in the conference season in Baton Rouge with Ronald Dupree and Collis Temple each getting 21 points. In that game, LSU made 31 -of-38 free throws and 6-of-13 three-pointers.

“LSU is coming off a great win against Mississippi State,” said Arkansas Coach Nolan Richardson. “They’ve already beaten us once this year, so they will be confident, especially the way we’ve been playing recently. LSU has been playing very well so we are in for a very tough game.”

The game is the first of two straight on the road for LSU as the Tigers go to South Carolina next Wednesday before returning home on Saturday, Feb. 23, for a 3 p.m. game against Georgia.
