The District 8 second team with Temple consists of Anthony Johnson of Louisiana Lafayette, Nick Zachary of Arkansas-Little Rock, Jason Jennings of Arkansas State and Jason Coleman of McNeese State.

Other SEC players making the District teams are Florida’s Udonis Haslem and Brett Nelson, Rod Grizzard of Alabama and Jarvis Hayes of Georgia on the District 6 first team, with Justin Reed of Ole Miss, Erwin Dudley of Alabama and Mario Austin of Mississippi State on the District 6 second team.

Tennessee’s Vincent Yarbrough and Kentucky’s Tayshaun Prince topped District 7’s first team, with Tennessee’s Marcus Haislip on the second team. Jannero Pargo of Arkansas is on the District 9 first team.

The 150 student-athletes, from 15 districts, are now eligible for the NABC/Pontiac Division I All-American team to be announced at the conclusion of the 2001-2002 NCAA men’s basketball season.
