FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Lady Tiger basketball team travels to Fayetteville, Ark. for a rematch with the Lady’Backs of Arkansas on Sunday at 2 p.m. in Coleman Coliseum.
LSU (13-7, 6-3 SEC) came from behind to defeat Auburn, 76-62, on Thursday night at home while Arkansas (13-9, 4-6 SEC) fell to Tennessee on the road, 93-65.
“The deeper we get into the schedule, the more important each game gets, and this is a very important game for us,” said LSU head coach Sue Gunter. “We beat Arkansas on our court last month, but it is always more difficult to defeat a team at their home. They play well at home and we will need to play well and stay focused on our game plan to win.”
A double-double by Aiysha Smith led the Lady Tigers past Arkansas on Jan. 20 as Smith poured in 18 points and pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds. Temeka Johnson also added a career-high 17 points and Scholanda Dorrell had 12 points for LSU.
Arkansas was led by India Lewis who had 16 points.
