BATON ROUGE — The 2002 LSU baseball squad will play an exhibition game on Saturday against a group of former Tigers who are currently active in professional baseball. The contest, billed as the “Alumni Game,” will begin at 4 p.m. in Alex Box Stadium.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children, and they will go on sale at the Alex Box Stadium ticket office at 2 p.m.
Former LSU players scheduled to participate in the Alumni Game include major leaguers Warren Morris and Armando Rios of the Pittsburgh Pirates, and Jeff Reboulet of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The game culminates a weekend of festivities sponsored by the Tiger Baseball Alumni Foundation, including a “Tiger Fan Fest” on Saturday. The Fan Fest, which begins at 9 a.m. in the Maddox Field House, will include interactive video games, a fantasy TV play-by-play booth, baseball museum displays and autograph booths.
Former and current Tigers will also participate in a home run derby beginning at 1 p.m. in Alex Box Stadium
Ticket information for the alumni game is available by calling the LSU Ticket Office at 225-578-2184. All proceeds from the Alumni Game will benefit LSU’s Academic Center for Athletes.
NOTE: Individual-game tickets for the 2002 LSU baseball regular season will go on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday in the LSU athletic ticket office on the first floor of the athletic administration building. Tickets to the LSU Alumni game are not available online.
LSU has already sold all of its 6,400 baseball season tickets, and individual-game tickets are all that remain available.
Individual-game tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children ages 3-12.
Tickets may be purchased in person on the first floor of the LSU athletic administration building, or they may be ordered by phone by calling (225) 578-2184 or 1-800-960-8587. Tickets may also be purchased on the Internet at www.lsusports.net.
Payments may be made with cash, check, VISA or MasterCard. The ticket office is also open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
